- Team Quality : (how good are the teams?)
- Stakes (What are they playing for?)
- Personality (How do these teams/cultures hate each other? Is it about more than just the game?)
- Caliber of Game: (Is it a close game, is there dramatic memorable moments, does the game tell an engaging story?)
Team Quality: (1.6/2): Notre Dame is elite, USC is fairly good, solid team quality.
Stakes: (1.8/2): A possible CFP birth on the line, decently high stakes. A chance to end one of CFB’s most historic rivalries with a win.
Personality: (3/3): There isn’t much hatred in this rivalry as I thought, but the tradition is absolutely off the charts, maybe the most tradition of any rivalry in college sports. There’s a beautiful story in here, and the fact that it would be the last time these 2 teams met is very sad, but adds so much meaning to this game. College Football is better when Notre Dame & USC play.
Caliber of Game (2.2/3): A good game, USC hung in there, some good moments.
