“Amazing how a game can go from okay to really good down the final stretch. The Wild needed to win this game and played like they knew that. They played like the bear in their logo came out of hibernation and immediately noticed an intruder. They scored immediately and thrashed the Avs around like they were ragdolls. Even a goal getting called back couldn’t stop the Wild from taking a huge lead after the 1st period. It was the exact start Minnesota needed and it was easy to think they were going to go back home for game 6. After that, a switch got flipped. The Avs woke up, they began controlling and dominating play while the Wild just did everything they could to hang on to the lead. Once the 2nd period finished, it looked like they would be able to do it. It only got more severe in the 3rd and the Wild looked helpless, relying on Wallstedt to keep their season alive. Right when it looked like he may do it, the Avs tied it up in just 2 minutes. They carried that momentum into OT and won”
