“This was bad for the Mets from the get-go. Before the top of the 1st was finished, Tong gave up 4 hits, 6 runs and threw 40 pitches. Big yikes. Was hoping for a pitching matchup, but the Rangers basically sealed it after the 1st, especially with Degrom doing a quick 1 2 3 inning right after. While Degrom wasn’t magnificent, he did enough. Credit to the Mets for showing some life, but the Rangers smothered it with a couple insurance runs. The AL Central is a bloodbath rn.”
