The Blues relaxed like this was going to be a comfortable win, but didn’t realize the recliner they’re in has spikes and they played very carefully once they realized. Tbh, even though I used that analogy, I’m surprised the Blues were even in danger of losing. The Blues had control of play pretty much all game and had multiple big chances. Spencer Knight and what felt like a dozen clangs off the post/bar were the reasons why Chicago had a chance. Logan Mailloux finally scored his first goal as a St. Louis Blue and he got in a fight. Mailloux was not the only ‘first goal’ tonight, Matt Luff also scored his first as a Blue. The other goal was scored by Justin Faulk who is well-past his first both this season and in his Blues-tenure. Burakovsky tried his best, but even when Chicago was in full desperation mode, they couldn’t generate much. Pretty good, although it was a waste of time to call a timeout with 0.8 seconds remaining, no chance they score there. Hope Bedard is okay.
