Easy win for the Slovaks. I love this Slovakia team, they’ve been so fun to watch. The Germans clearly came into this game with a plan. That plan was to rely on their high-end talent to get them through this game. The problem with that strategy is simple: the Slovaks have the depth to keep up with pretty much any team. Gotta shoutout the only current Flame at the Olympics, Martin Pospisil. He hasn’t put up the points, but he’s been a demon on both ends of the ice. It is no coincidence that Slovakia lost the only game he didn’t play, just saying. Slafkovsky has also been elite, he’s always a threat to score and he is someone every team must account for. Regenda was terrific, scoring 2 goals and an assist. Finally, probably the breakout star of the tournament, Dalibor Dvorsky. With his goal and assist today, the Blues’ 1st round pick breaks Ovechkin’s record for most points by an NHL rookie at the Olympics. No team that faces them can take them lightly or else they will come to regret it
