“We got a nail biter for game #1! The Horned Frogs wanted to show the world they aren’t here to mess around. Ending the 1st half with an 11-0 run to go up 15 going into halftime. They were cooking in virtually every way. Bullying the Buckeyes inside, nailing their shots from deep and frazzling the OSU ball-handlers. It looked like this game would devolve into a blowout with all the momentum in TCU’s favour. Still, the Buckeyes refused to go down without a fight. They scratched and clawed their way back into this game, cutting TCU’s lead down to 3 before the 2nd half was half-over. TCU briefly pulled away once again, taking a 9-point lead at the 11-minute mark, only for the Buckeyes to take the lead back less than 4 minutes later and Amare Bynum punctuated that comeback with a vicious and-1 slam. This was all in spite of Bruce Thornton being silent. After that, it went back-and-forth and TCU avoided disaster thanks to Xavier Edmonds in the dying seconds. Great way to start the tourney.”
