@FlameRaptorRaven's rating of Sabres vs Canadiens

@FlameRaptorRaven rated the Sabres vs Canadiens game 7.9 out of 10 in NHL on May 17, 2026. Final score: Sabres 8 – Canadiens 3. R2. Fan ratings and discussion on RateGame.

Buffalo showed brilliant resilience as they silenced the Bell Centre with a statement win and set us up for what will hopefully be an incredible game 7. In some ways, this was kind of a repeat of game 5, just with the roles reversed. Clearly the NHL has imposed an ‘insane 1st period’ mandate on these teams because it feels like they physically can’t end a 1st before some madness ensues with multiple goals. Buffalo scored less than a minute in, only Xhekaj to catch everybody off guard with a goal of his own and 2 more goals from Montreal before Lyon could make even a single save. The Bell Centre was rocking and Buffalo was in shambles. A late goal officially gave us another 5-goal 1st. After that, it was ALL Buffalo. They outworked, out-skilled and out-witted the Habs to a dominant latter 2 periods and a win. Could pick a bunch of Sabres for player of the game, my pick would be Quinn as he had the most important goals imo, but Dahlin was also tremendous, best D-man on the ice tonight.
