Hellebuyck is back between the pipes. For the first 2 periods, Helle looked like his Olympic-self. After a strong first period for the Jets, the Ducks quickly gained more ground in the 2nd period, forcing Hellebuyck to stand on his head to keep the Jets in the game. Luckily for him, Vilardi scored a 2nd goal in the 2nd period right before the Ducks flew ahead. It took a blast from Trouba to beat Helle. The problem with that for the Jets was two-fold. Anaheim both solved Hellebuyck and seized all momentum going into a 3rd that became insanely chaotic. Despite a feel-good moment with Salomonsson’s first NHL goal, the Ducks managed comeback from that 2-goal deficit. With less than 4 minutes to go, Poehling carved his way through the Jets D and gave Anaheim the lead the seemingly complete a crazy comeback. Instead, Cole Perfetti harnesses his clutch gene and found Kyle Connor for the tying goal with less than 2 minutes to go. Even with all that, Kreider won it with the slowest OT winner.
