“Meaningful offensive only showed up in the first and ninth innings. Springer out with a toe fracture. One trainwreck of an inning from a visibly-unwell Lauer, who I do not blame and give a tremendous amount of credit to for a gutsy performance while recovering from illness. Spencer Miles also deserves some praise for getting through those innings. Nevertheless, I must declare that this team remains cursed. I’ll be burning an effigy of Jack Morris this evening in an attempt to appease the cthonic baseball gods.”
