“Who could've thought this game would be the MVP race just a year later? And as Stafford unfortunately won the MVP, the Rams unfortunately won this game. Stafford threw for 295 yards and 4 touchdowns, and despite an impressive 282 yards and 2 TDs from Maye, he threw an interception with the game on the line to lose this game. As with the Titans game just a couple weeks prior, another rookie mistake cost the Patriotsthe game. That was why the Patriots were so good this past year. Maye just didn't make those rookie mistakes. He stepped up when they needed him and even when they had the rare loss, it often wasn't due to a terrible mistake from Maye.”
