“Cole Hutson becomes Ovi’s first ever teammate that was born after Ovi made his NHL debut. Speaking of Hutson, he and Roy made a solid pairing tonight. Not spectacular, but solid. The kid even scored a goal, which will likely make him the only Ovi teammate ever to be both born after he debuted and score a goal. Speaking of Ovechkin related history, he inches closer to 1000 total goals as he scored #999 thanks to a fantastic feed between multiple Senators. Tom Wilson doubled the lead and turned this game into a war of attrition. Both Logan Thompson and Linus Ulmark were great. Thompson was just a bit better. Stutzle gave Ottawa life and set us up for a nailbiter in the final minutes. Unfortunately, 2 empty net goals killed any tension in this game. Ottawa really struggled with the big-boy line of Washington. Anytime Wilson, Protas and Dubois were on the ice, it felt like the Sens were helpless. Ottawa did put up a good fight, but the deserving team prevailed. Valuable win for the Caps.”
