“Instant classic with history being made. Czechia, as it is currently classified, had never qualified for a World Cup. Now they have in electric fashion with a familiar saviour. Czechia is a super fun team to watch and they were all over the Danes in that first half. They scored just 3 minutes into the match, but they got so many other chances, it’s kinda shocking the Czechs didn’t have a bigger lead. Still, they led at halftime. Denmark gained more ground in the 2nd half, making it a more even matchup. Finally, Joachim Andersen levelled if with a header and revived their qualification hopes. We would get extra time and the captain of Czechia, Krejci came to the rescue once again, hitting it home in what looked like the winning goal; only for Denmark to say “not so fast”. Just 6 minutes into the 2nd half of extra time, Hogh scored his first ever national team goal at the best time and sent this game to penalties. Denmark’s magic ran out and Czechia capitalized to make it back to the WC.”
