The Flames actually dominated the Kings… for 2 periods. 3rd and OT were more even. Even with that, this was a goaltending duel, no doubt. After all the talk about Kopitar in my broadcast, of course it started with a fight between Adam Klapka and Samuel Helenius. Sadly, the fight between 2 heavyweights disappointed; it didn’t even have a winner. Chucky would be proud, but disappointed at the result. Luckily, there was plenty to enjoy after that fight, including Wolf and Kuemper being on their A-game. Wolf using his insane lateral movement to make a glove save was my personal highlight. Took a well-placed laser from Kempe to break the deadlock. After what felt like ages of the Flames both maintaining possession AND getting shots on goal (take it from me, it has been rare), Coleman tied it up with a short-handed breakaway of all things. Kopitar nearly got away with a clear kick goal but thankfully it was called back. No feel-good story tonight as Frost freezes the frozen hearts of LA.
