Surprisingly good game between the best and worst Original 6 teams. Game 2 for Jacob Fowler. Sadly there is no insane coincidence with other legendary Habs goalies in this one, maybe that’s why this game didn’t go as smoothly for Fowler. Fowler was solid, but the floodgates were fully busted down after Panarin’s goal on the penalty shot. 2 goals in less than 20 seconds had to hurt the young goalie’s confidence. Speaking of rough starts. I had to double check that Shesterkin was starting tonight and it wasn’t Jonathon Quick. The first couple of periods for him were not what I am used to with him. Sure, the skaters in front of him are not helping, but still, at least 2 of the goals could’ve been stopped. I guess even the best have their bad nights. It’s just fortunate the Rangers decided to actually give him goal support. Both goalies eventually figured themselves out in the 3rd and we got overtime because of it after a couple high scoring periods. JT added to his clutch resumé tonight.
