“This was a hard game to watch as a Marlins fan. It felt like the offense didn’t exist for a majority of the game while the Guardians were flooding the bases every inning. The Guards got all of their runs on two 2 out 2-rbi doubles, one by Steven Kwan (9th in the order) and Patrick Bailey (8th in the order). The big momentum shift was when the Marlins were to score a run in the third inning on a single by Xavier Edwards, but Steven Kwan back picked Kyle Stowers off second before the run could score. The following inning Kwan hit his 2 rbi double. The Marlins got one back on a Liam Hicks rbi single in the seventh inning, before Bailey’s 2 rbi double the following inning to change the momentum back once again. The Marlins could not find any barrels (and I’m not sure if they even had one the whole game). The pitching was not bad. Eury Perez couldn’t locate many fastballs but was able to fight through his innings. Cade Gibson did well. William Kempner wasn’t great but not awful.”
