Admittedly, I can’t confidentially say if I rated this game or not, but I do remember having 100% of Flames games rated before tonight. Regardless, I do have vague memories of this game. While this was a great game for the Flames, it was a blowout in the preseason meaning teams go from 80% to 50% before the game is half way through. There were some standouts. Wolf gave a preview to his stellar rookie season, Coronato began establishing himself into the fixture he is now in the Flames’ lineup and the big man duo of Klapka and Honzek was wreaking havoc. Beyond that, Poirier scored what we now know would be the closest he ever got to scoring an NHL goal with the Calgary Flames and future Wranglers legend Martin Frk found the back of the net himself. Besides the sentimental value, this game sucked, plain and simple. Probably for the best my memory of it isn’t very strong.
