FLAMES GAMES ARE BACK. Which means I have to fulfil my obligation to watch and rate every single one. Even better, we got a Battle of Alberta that gave us overtime AND an actually good 8 ROUND shootout as the Flames complete the 2nd ever BOA 3-0 comeback! At first, this game looked one-sided. After some brief back and forth, the Oilers took control. Flames couldn’t generate anything while the Oilers potted 3 slick goals. But the Flames are back on their bullshit. Through grit and forechecking, the Flames tied it up (with some help from Stuart Skinner). After that comeback, the game became more even, though it did lean slightly in the Oilers’ favour, thankfully, we have Dustin Wolf. The goals also show the contrasts between these two teams. Oilers are slick, talented and efficient. Flames are gritty, determined and relentless. Good look for both teams tbh and a great way to start both their seasons, except for the part where Skinner costs them a win, Oilers fans probably don’t like that
