With that exit in the fifth, Shane Bieber is averaging just under half a game per start this year. We'll look back at 2026 as the rotation that wasn't. At least the offense managed to start producing in the middle of the game, especially from a three-run homer from Kazuma Okamoto. Bullpen was solid until Varland, who had a surprisingly difficult time closing things. Not used to feeling so nervous with Louis on the mound. Hopefully he just had a bad evening and this isn't indicative of something worse.

This game had everything home runs and strikeouts and more importantly, a Shane Bieber bounce back dispite the rocky first he bounced back for a good 4 plus innings. and as well Okamoto ties Shohei with the most homers by a japanese rookie and it still the first half! keep it going boys!
