Looked much better on the ice than off and it didn’t look great on it. What the actual fuck is this aesthetic? I’m being serious here and maybe it’s just not vibing with me specifically, but Florida’s ugly uniforms, the pointless concerts, the random video boards that weren’t even fully in frame, pretty much everything was bad imo. A disgrace compared to the Heritage Classic just a couple years back. In the spirit of putting up a poor effort, the Rangers won this game with minimal effort, well, there were 2 guys playing their asses off. Mika Zibanejad made outdoor game history. He becomes the first player ever to score 5 points in an outdoor game and joins the exclusive hat trick club with Tyler Toffoli and David Pastrnak while scoring the first hat trick in Winter Classic history. Of course, just like many Rangers games the last few years, Igor saved the day. Panthers nearly doubled New York’s shot total and Igor shut the door. This gives the Rangers 6 outdoor wins, the most ever.
