“The beginning of the end for a team that never truly got to bloom. Everyone could see the signs, everyone knew it was coming, and they hold onto this moment. I can’t blame them. Things did not look up for them afterwards. I know many Colts fans in my life, I talk to them each and every day, when they aren’t glazing Alec Pierce or getting upset that they keep getting fleeced in every single transaction that they’ve ever made, they have this weird sense of nostalgia for the time they were 8-2. We won Lombardi this year, and for a while, even when I was the only one who believed in us, I really thought we’d end up playing Indianapolis in the big game. I can’t say that happened. The Sauce trade was a very weird move, but now that they don’t really have a bright future, I wonder what’s the plan? Maybe one day we can all be happy, but until then, some will remember their premature conclusion to a season that ended with them on top, and think with a smile. Eh, smile lasts until the next game.”
