“Fun fact about me: I have a soft spot for Marcus Mariota. Safe to say, I was rooting for him to get the upset win. This game really took a while to get going. The first half was full of sloppy football, maybe the worst I’ve seen from Mahomes and the Chiefs in a long time. But Kansas City woke up from their brief coma and grinded out 2 long touchdown drives while Mariota continued to prove why 15-year-old me was a terrible NFL scout. Commanders only had 1 drive longer than a minute in the 2nd half while the Chiefs were just trying to drain the clock. A sloppy game that just became a formality is not gonna get high marks from me, even with Kelce recapturing the vestiges of his prime.”
