“Messi once again makes magic on the biggest stage. This was not easy, but Messi and Argentina got the job done. It was not looking good at first. Messi had the chance to make history and give Argentina the lead with a penalty, only to shank it to the right. For many teams and players, this would rattle their confidence. Not Messi nor Argentina. After around 20 minutes of struggling to find their footing, we all witnessed World Cup history. Lionel Andrés Messi became the all-time leading goal scorer in the World Cup, surpassing the record previously held by Miroslav Klose. He could’ve had it with an early penalty, but I’m gonna pretend he missed the penalty on purpose and chose to break it in open play with a laser to the bottom corner. For good measure, Messi scored again and became the all-time leading World Cup goal scorer regardless of gender with a sliding finish through 3 defenders.As if we needed more proof that the little magic man from Rosario is the greatest player of all time”
