“A tale of two halves. Feels weird to say that with baseball of all things but it is very apt in this case. First 4 and a half innings were steady Seattle control. Pitching looked good and the Mariners were doing just enough to put runs up. But then, the Tigers got it going. A rally punctuated by Javy Baez’s first playoff homer in 8 years(!) tied up the game. The Riley Greene woke up feeling dangerous and hit a solo shot to grab a lead for the Tigers that they would never surrender. As someone who is rooting for the Mariners, while I am sad they didn’t close it out, this means we’re probably getting an epic pitching duel in game 5; Skubal vs. Castillo.”
