Flames’ first game post-Ramus Andersson trade and the Flames debut for Zach Whitecloud. Whitecloud was pretty good, but the Flames were more meh. Game was kinda slow and both teams couldn’t maintain momentum for very long. Devils just hung onto it a bit longer. Bahl was genuinely great in this game, especially on that assist for the Kadri goal, just forget a single moment. Gridin go 1st line minutes and even got an assist. Devils really took over in the 3rd period and hung onto the puck for long stretches. Thankfully, the Flames had a wall. Devin Cooley continues to be the best backup goalie in the NHL (I said it!). Which included an extremely clutch save on a Devils breakaway off a rare Bahl giveaway in the 3rd period. Unfortunately; the game ended in OT when Cooley missed a poke-check. Nemec had a nice little redemption story, scoring the winner after getting rocked. Mercer had a sweet game too. Ngl, my attention was partially consumed by CFP National Championship. Sorry.
