“The Panthers have never been a fan of happy endings and they reinforced that reputation by ruining a fairytale ending at the 11th hour. This game became super important out of nowhere thanks to the announcement that this would be Jonathan Quick’s final start. The question I had entering the game was if this game would become a beautiful end or would it be a sad end to a wonderful career. At first, it looked like the ending would be grim. The Panthers were up 2-0 before 12 minutes passed and I was confident the Rangers were going to lay down. Luckily they knew what was at stake. They proceeded to completely outplay Florida the rest of the way, eventually tying the game, clearly determined to make sure Quick’s final game wasn’t a loss. Sadly, that was not up to them. Cole Reinhardt scored his 2nd of the game with less than 2 minutes to go and New York couldn’t respond. While it sucks his career ends in a loss, his career was still brilliant and that is worthy of a small boost in rating. ”
