“The Italians got out to an early lead off of home runs from Kyle Teel and Sam Antonacci in the second, giving them a 3-0 lead. Then in the fourth they continued to get production from the bottom of their order with a two run homer from Jac Caglianone. They went up 8-0 in the sixth off of US mistakes. Gunnar Henderson put the US on the board with a solo homer. Then in the seventh PCA hit a three run homer to cut the lead to 8-4. The US got one more in the eighth on a Roman Anthony single and another in the ninth on PCA’s second homer, but the comeback started too late and the Italians prevailed. If Italy wins against Mexico, Italy and the US make it to the knockout round. If Italy loses, it will likely be Italy and US or Mexico.”
