“That overtime win for Vegas was clearly too much for Anaheim to bear. They came out slow, sloppy and it screwed them over. Mitch Marner continues to rub salt in Toronto’s many wounds by balling out in this game, especially in the early goings. To quote the notification I got when this goal happened, Marner pulled out a move straight out of the Harlem Globetrotters to make it 1-0. Then he found Howden with a nice pass to make it 2-0. After that, Shea Theodore decided to remind the Ducks that they gave him up in the expansion draft by making it 3-0. At that point, I thought the game was over and Vegas would be able to just run out the clock. Sure, the Ducks did score a goal and make it a 2-goal game, but unlike the Avs, they weren’t threatening to the point a comeback felt inevitable. When Vegas scored early in the 3rd to make it 4-1, they could’ve ended it there. Marner’s sweet play saves this game from the red, but it was close. Vegas has earned the honour of likely losing to Colorado.”
