“This one really caught me off guard. It was a slow and methodical game which should’ve benefitted a defense like Saint Mary’s. However, Saint Mary’s was pretty much always playing from behind. Literally from the very beginning when the Aggies went on a 7-0 run to start the game. That was just the start of Saint Mary’s problems because their offense got smothered. Their offense was the weaker part of their game going into the tournament, but I did not expect it to bite them in the ass this quickly. They did manage to cut into the Aggies’ lead occasionally. Hell, they did exactly that after the 7-0 run I previously mentioned. After that, it was pretty much always a double digit lead in favour of Texas A&M. Looking at Saint Mary’s box score is striking because there are way too many 0s in points. Dent and Campbell combined for 33 of their team’s 50 points. Just a defensive masterclass alongside valuable contributions from Agee on offense. Perhaps the Aggies are a true sleeper.”
