“What a show stealer! Went from a nothing-burger to an awesome game and nearly an all-time classic. The Jayhawks were swarming the Lancers and keeping them off-balance. Darryn Peterson was terrific performance while California Baptist struggled mightily in the first half. Nobody personified their slow start better than their star Dominique Daniels. The man was 1/10 from the field at one point. Cal Baptiste looked completely helpless as they went down 20 at halftime and faced a deficit as big as 26 in the 2nd half. Which makes it incredibly impressive they picked themselves up and put the fear of god in the hearts of Kansas. They went from shooting 22% to shooting over 50%. Daniels completely took over while Peterson turned invisible. They cut down the lead to as much as just 6 points, on the cusp of the biggest comeback in NCAA tournament history. Sadly, they couldn’t pull it off, but what an effort! Hold your heads high Lancers! Edit: After thinking about it, dropped it down to an 8. ”
