As a Flames fan, even with how his tenure ended here, it always warms my heart to see Andrei Kuzmenko succeed. After an alright 1st period, Warren Foegele finally managed to break through while acting as the pre-show for Kuzmenko’s takeover. Part 1 was Kuzmenko showing off his skill before sending a laser to Fiala for the tip and goal #2. This game got interesting in the 3rd as the Wild tied it up cut their deficit in half thanks to Jared Spurgeon. Kuzmenko then decided to call ball game and dangled around multiple Wild players in his offensive zone before dragging the puck around Gustavsson for what would end up being the game winner. Hartman scored with about 5 minutes left to make it interesting down the stretch, only for Kempe to put a bow on this game with an empty netter. Kuzmenko was the best player on the ice, full stop, but it would be disingenuous to not give credit to the Kings for stifling an elite Wild squad.
