Talk about whiplash. Predators go from playing the bottom feeding Blues to the best team in the NHL. But the Predators must know something the other NHL teams don’t because this is the 2nd time in 5 days they’ve played the Avs tough. Or the Avalanche are coasting, you decide. I’m more inclined to think the latter. At the very least, the Avs were complacent. The Predators kept up for a while before eventually conceding this game in the 3rd where the Avs played with their food. Of course the usual suspects in Makar and MacKinnon did their thing. Nichuskin was really gritty on that empty netter as well. Marchessault with a bit of a throwback performance to his Panthers and Golden Knights days. A goal and being an issue all night for the Avalanche. Sure, you wish Annunen was a bit better, but there’s not like he could’ve done much better. Colorado just has good goaltending now, it’s terrifying.
