“For the first time ever, the Mariners are 1 win away from a World Series appearance. What a nail-biter. The Jays got another great start, this time from Gausman, who performed even better than he did in game 1 while getting double the run support. The Mariners needed a good outing from their starter and preferably a deep one. They got part of that from Bryce Miller, but once again, the Mariners pulled their starter early. Didn’t even let him get to 60 pitches. It was a decision I questioned in the moment and those questions grew as the Jays took the lead after getting so close multiple times. If not for the good pitching from Brash and Woo, the Jays probably run away with this game just like they did last night; by that logic, the pitching change made sense. That change was vindicated thanks to a grand salami from Eugenio Suarez that would’ve made Dave Niehaus proud. Suarez drove in almost every run as he helps Seattle get 1 win away. I hope George Springer is okay.”
