“This game sucked on so many levels and a combined no-hitter does not make up for it. The only thing saving this from going below a 1 is the fact this was a rivalry game. No game has better shown off why the Rangers have been mediocre this season. Yordan continues crushing the ball as he was the main contributor to Kumar Rocker’s not-so-great game. Gray then came in and gave up more runs in this game than he has in any other game this season. The last 7 days have been his worst stretch of the season, by far. But pitching was nowhere near our biggest issue. The lineup couldn’t get good contact to save their lives. Houston’s pitching had less strikeouts than they did bases on balls, think about that. The Astros’ pitching got through inning-after-inning and somehow finished with a combined no-hitter out of our incompetence. I don’t hate combined no hitters, but I certainly am not a fan. To me, they just don’t have the same prestige as a solo no-hitter. Of course it happens against us. ”
