“I’m saving my rage for the end. My heart goes out to Croatia, at first it felt like my old adage of Croatia always finding a way was gonna come true. The 1st half was mostly slow and uneventful, perfect for the metronome-esque Croatia side. They turned it on just enough to finally break through with a goal and very nearly scored a 2nd that was called offside (spoiler, that happens again). Portugal needed a break and they got it with a penalty that CR7 converted for his first knockout goal. Roberto Martinez puzzlingly took him out and Ramos stole this game at the death. Right when Croatia seemed to tie it, it was called back for offside. Heartbreaking game that came down to the wire. Probably gets an 8-9/10. With all that being said Fuck this. Fuck everything about it. Fuck you FIFA gods for seeming determined to fuck me over in each of my bold Round of 32 picks. FUCK YOU PORTUGAL FOR GETTING BAILED OUT SO HARD!
