“The final 8-9 seed matchup in this tournament. It was alright. Kael Combs set the tone of his performance and this game with a 3 just 30 seconds into this game. Despite the close seeding, Clemson struggled to keep it close. You may think that was because Iowa just overwhelmed them offensively with crazy efficiency, but that would be dead wrong. Clemson actually shot better at virtually every level. It was the rebounding that won the day. Iowa dominated the glass and used that dominance to make up for their deficiencies. Cam Manyawu led the way, he had 4 times as many offensive rebounds as he did points (don’t look up how many points he had). Iowa had 7 guys with at least 4 rebounds. Clemson had 3. It’s like every great Iowa tight end jumped in just for the rebounding. Although I thought this game was alright, I did not appreciate how the last 13 seconds became 10 minutes when Iowa was winning by 5. It was the worst kind of basketball to watch. Time wasting and awkward conversations.”
