Pretty good game and weirdly really sentimental. Fun fact: I am born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick so seeing all the talk about Moncton on Hockey Day in Canada was really special for me. Time for a history lesson. The Moncton Golden Flames were once the Flames’ AHL team and many of the eventual 1989 Stanley Cup champs played on that team including Joel Otto, Gary Roberts and Mike Vernon. Even Brett Hull played on the Golden Flames. History lesson over. With all the talk around Rasmus Andersson, this may have been his final game with the Calgary Flames. If it is, he went out with one more great performance. He found Sharky for a snipe and the first goal of the game. Then he helped the big man Adam Klapka screen Sorokin and set up Klapka’s tip-goal. Costco scored his first goal of the season and Yan scored his 4th career goal. In reality this was lopsided in favour of Long Island. The difference was Wolf outperforming the former Flames goalie Big Save Dave. Wolf nearly scored too.
