“It was not smooth, but it was more than effective and Americans are rightfully very happy with that. It started slow, but the USA had firm control of this game. Bosnia’s defence was stout, but the Americans were finding the gaps and getting their chances. All it would take is 1 fortunate bounce to break through and Balogun got that right before halftime. You can call it lucky, but I’d say Bosnia was lucky to not be losing earlier. The Americans went into halftime with all the momentum. This game got weird in the 2nd half. Bosnia got a chance, but began dropping like flies, including their legend Eden Dzeko. Then this game went off the deep end. Balogun drove his studs into a Bosnian player. For sure a foul, but it was accidental and not a red. The ref disagreed and gave arguably the USA’s best player a red card. Understandably, Americans on and off the pitch were pissed. Luckily, Malik Tillman bottled up those feelings before unleashing them on a free kick goal to confirm the victory.”
