I was so ready to be like “Jets fans finally get some reprieve with a dominant win even without Hellebuyck”, but I can’t even say that now because Josh Morrissey got hurt. Granted he did come back to the game because hockey players are built different, but I can only imagine that anxiety about what injury could be. For now, let’s focus on the positives, for their sake. The Jets finally played a complete game. Namestinikov helped the Jets takeoff with a goal less than 2 minutes in and they never looked back. Mark Scheifele put the cherry on top of this feel-good game with a lucky goal and a PERFECTLY placed shot to make a comeback virtually impossible for LA. Not like the Kings had nothing to cheer for. Ward got his first career assist, but that was about it. Comrie was really good and made sure LA couldn’t give Winnipeg any scares. This game weirdly didn’t have a lot of shots, but I feel like that almost helped, they just kept getting really good chances and the Jets put them away.
