“Who the hell would’ve guessed this would be the highest scoring match of the first round of group stage matches? The first half was absolutely incredible and made it seem like this was going to be the best game of the tournament. It’s a shame England stomped on Croatia’s throat in the 2nd half because it sullied what was looking like an all-timer. Instead this game will have to settle for just being great. Oh no, what a shame. Jokes aside, I can’t overstate how epic that first half was. Granted, that first England goal was very strange. Harry Kane’s penalty got stopped easily, only for the refs to throw England a lifeline they didn’t deserve. After that, it was a spectacle. Croatia responded only for Kane to blast one home to take the lead back. Croatia than outdid their first goal with an incredible play to set up the 2nd right before halftime. Sadly, England scored basically immediately in the 2nd half and Croatia never recovered. Livakovic saved it from being a bigger blowout. ”
