“About damn time we get a straight forward win. Feels like we haven’t had one in weeks. And we did it while shutting out a top 5 offence in MLB? That’s what I’m talking about! I’m not going to say what I hope they will do with this win because I don’t want to jinx it. That aside, I’ll admit my fandom boosts my enjoyment of this game. Who shut down the elite Nationals lineup? Not DeGrom, not Eovaldi, not even Mackenzie Gore. Cal effing Quantrill got the job done and then some with a brilliant 7 inning outing before passing the game off to our strong bullpen and letting them finish it off. The Rangers lineup made sure it was worth it by pouncing on Nationals pitching early and often, building a solid lead that Quantrill didn’t even need. Corey Seager is looking like himself again, Nimmo and Langford had good games at the plate and Cody Freeman got his first RBI of the season. Lots to like as a Rangers fan. But as a baseball fan, this game wasn’t fun outside of Quantrill’s pitching. ”
