@FlameRaptorRaven's rating of Blue Jackets vs Hurricanes

@FlameRaptorRaven rated the Blue Jackets vs Hurricanes game 3.7 out of 10 in NHL on April 2, 2026. Final score: Blue Jackets 1 – Hurricanes 5. Reg. Season. Fan ratings and discussion on RateGame.

The Hurricanes show the difference between the haves and the have-nots, no offense Columbus. The best way to prove this was one sequence at around the mid-point of this game. The background is pretty simple. Carolina monopolized the 1st period. They scored 3 goals, outshot the Blue Jackets and got the better chances by far. Going into the 2nd, Columbus needed some kind of momentum to recover from that beating. It took more than half the period, but Mateychuk managed to find a rebound and jam it past Andersen to cut their deficit to 2 goals. Maybe this could be the moment that Columbus surges back and continues their hot stretch in their playoff push. Well, that thought left my head in less than 30 seconds as Martinook just whipped it from the blue line to beat Elvis and extend Carolina’s lead back to 3. On the plus side, Jordan Staal got an assist in his 1400th game. Good for him. Columbus never looked like they had a chance after that sequence. Carolina just dominated. It happens.
