“This game was bizarre. On the ice and scoreboard, it played out a lot like the Hurricanes-Senators game we got yesterday. There’s clearly a better team, that team proves it on the ice, but the goaltender keeps the game close. Eventually, the better team beats them and scores an insurance goal. All that happened in this game, but there were some key differences; most of them made this game a slight improvement. The Colorado Avalanche are both a juggernaut and fun to watch, so watching them fight with a locked-in Anton Forsberg was very cool to watch. The Kings looked helpless and would’ve been down a goal earlier if not for a goal getting called back. The 3rd period was when the differences really come into play. Colorado was up 2 with 15 minutes to go in the 3rd, but unlike Ottawa, the Kings actually found a goal. Cutting the deficit to 1 with 2+ minutes left set us up for an exhilarating ending. Instead, LA immediately took a penalty and all the tension disappeared. Still pretty good.”
