“Samuel Basallo and Dylan Beavers come up huge for Baltimore! Basallo with a game tying homer in the 8th and Beavers with the 10th inning walkoff double. I wonder if Basallo gets more time at catcher now that Rutschman is gone. Seems to be Narvaez getting the daily starts there for Baltimore, but he's been awful this season, but although Basallo came up through the minor leagues as a catcher, he's primarily played first baseman with the major league squad, of course with Adley Rutschman presumably being the franchise catcher before a trade that surprised most people, including me. If Coby Mayo can perform though, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as the everyday first baseman and moving Basallo to catcher, although it would take some getting used to, he hasn't played there in a while, so I presume he won't be at catcher the rest of this season and would take an offseason and Spring Training for him to get back to being an everyday catcher.”
