The Storm Surge was strong in this one. Mikko Rantanen’s first game in Raleigh, North Carolina since he and the Hurricanes “mutually parted ways” with the trade to Dallas and he was getting booed like he was Adam Fox in Calgary. Speaking of the Rangers, K’Andre Miller scored his first goal with the Hurricanes and The Bus Driver (Bus Stop?) Brandon Bussi made an electric save in the first 10 minutes of this game. Dallas then scored a weird one. Fortunately for Canes fans, Ghost-Bear restored order with a power play goal shortly after. Even better for the Hurricanes, Stankoven then scored on his former team after deking Rantanen. It got even better for Carolina in the 2nd period. K’Andre Miller scored his 2nd goal of this game and Canes career. Then to make things even worse for Dallas, Oettinger lost the handle on the puck and Seth Jarvis took full advantage for his first goal since returning from injury. The 3rd period was a formality even with a Rantanen goal.
