Another great close game. This series has felt so even so far and tonight, we got a classic pitching duel. Skubal looked great against every batter… except one. Jorge Polanco, who had a grand total of 2 career postseason home runs before tonight, not only doubled that total, he became the first hitter of 2025 to get 2 home runs on Skubal in the same game. Castillo didn’t go as deep but the Mariners pitching staff kept the Tigers bats in check pretty much all game long. Tigers did capitalize on their few hits, but it wasn’t enough as Julio ended up with the game winning RBI, right after the Tigers tied it up. While this game was less action packed than game 1, it was still had an electric atmosphere and some great moments. That long last at-bat with Meadows and Munoz was extra tense. Mariners tie it up.
