Georgetown did almost everything right in this game and still came up short. Shot better from the field, shot better from three, and won the battle on the glass. Pretty big free throw disparity and just a few too many turnovers cost the Hoyas. Great game from Vince Iwuchukwu, who registered career highs in both minutes played (30) and rebounds (14). Fun, physical battle inside between him and Tarris Reed, who finished with 15 points and 11 boards for the Huskies. One of the best games the Hoyas have played all season, and they clearly scouted well, but you just have to take advantage of one of the rare occasions where UConn can’t hit the broad side of a barn. Love watching Braylon Mullins shoot though, even if it doesn’t go in. Huskies have that national title contender gene that allows them to just manufacture wins despite rough performances. Great home crowd for Georgetown, but another close loss. Feels like they’re right there in so many of these games. Now 1-6 in Big East play.
