@FlameRaptorRaven's rating of Avalanche vs Lightning

@FlameRaptorRaven rated the Avalanche vs Lightning game 8.9 out of 10 in NHL on January 7, 2026. Final score: Avalanche 2 – Lightning 4. Reg. Season. Fan ratings and discussion on RateGame.

Jon Cooper’s 1002nd NHL game coached, all with Tampa Bay. This was his first home game since hitting the 1000 game milestone. He’s just the 5th head coach to ever coach 1000 games with 1 team and crazy enough, he has the 2nd most wins in a coach’s first 1000 games ever, just 3 wins behind the GOAT Scotty Bowman. The tribute was cool, but watching Charles Barkley call Jon Cooper “a hell of a coach” in a deep fried video was hilarious. Now for the game itself, after some back and forth hockey, Guentzel just strolled in and scored the game’s first goal in the dying seconds of the 1st period. Lightning would remain in control but the Avs eventually tied it thanks to a Herculean effort from Bardakov to set up Parker Kelly. Brock Nelson then spoiled the party with a goal of his own. Tampa tied it and then, Brandon Hagel, a true Jon Cooper guy that actually earned his spot on Team Canada, scored the winner in this fast-paced game. Another Jon Cooper favourite, Cirelli, put the cherry on top.
