@FlameRaptorRaven's rating of Capitals vs Rangers

@FlameRaptorRaven rated the Capitals vs Rangers game 2.8 out of 10 in NHL on April 5, 2026. Final score: Capitals 1 – Rangers 8. Reg. Season. Fan ratings and discussion on RateGame.

This massacre of a game may have ended the Ovechkin era in Washington. Ovechkin’s retirement feels inevitable as he is in the final year of his contract and Russian players often play their final years back in their home country (see Pavel Datsyuk). With how tight the playoff race is, getting blown out like this to the New York Rangers is both inexcusable and likely a killing blow to their season. Even with 4 games to go, the Capitals need a lot to go their way. That assumes they even win their final games, which includes 2 against old rival Sid and the Penguins. For now, let’s focus on this game. To be completely honest, there isn’t a lot to say. This game remained close after the 1st period thanks to a slick Tom Wilson pass. It looked like anyone’s game. Then the Rangers went nuclear and blew the doors off the Caps. Only 5 Rangers didn’t record a point tonight and hat trick man Perrault was ironically one of them. I was just waiting for this game to end by the time the 3rd arrived.
