“Nathan Eovaldi, what a player. I absolutely loved him for the Sox. Pitched so well in that 18 inning game against the Dodgers even if it ended in that Muncy walkoff, but for 5+ years Eovaldi was a great pitcher for the Sox. This game though, he also helped the Sox. A very mediocre 5 inning, 5 run outing. Duran with a double in the 3rd and a homer in the 5th. I couldn't even imagine 2026 Jarren Duran doing such a thing. It's so infuriating how this season he tries to chase that again and he's swinging for power. Honestly, no matter if he swings for contact or power, he'll have the same amount of pop. Difference is, his 2024 batting average was over one hundred points higher than in 2026. In 2024, he was just putting the ball in play and using his speed. In 2026 he's chasing home runs, which was the same thing he fell into early in his career. And to top it all off, he's a complete head case. Last trade deadline, the Padres offered Cease and Salas for him. Now he has no value.”
