This game acts as a great fork in the world. If I had told you the Mariners scored 8 runs on 8 hits, I feel like your first thought would be ‘Oh, Cal must’ve hit multiple bombs’, you wouldn’t expect JP Crawford, a defensive specialist who’s glove is fading to be the catalyst for the offense. It certainly helps when the Tigers defense falters at the worst times and Logan Gilbert has a start that will help Mariners fans forget his rough first postseason start. Not a lot of action as the Mariners dominate, besides that awful 9th that thankfully ended with a slick play by Naylor, and put themselves 1 win away from their first ALCS since 2001 in spite of Ferguson trying to blow it.
